In some cases, the donor stock at the back of the patient is extremely limited. This situation is observed at 5-7 degrees of alopecia. Therefore, in the center of hair transplantation to patients with high degrees of alopecia, they offer the possibility of obtaining grafts from the body and combining hair transplant techniques to obtain a record number of grafts.
In androgenetic alopecia, hair transplantation from the body is carried out by the seamless FUE method (extraction of follicular associations). At the same time, there are almost no traces in the areas from which donor grafts are extracted (beard, inguinal region, chest, legs, hands). Compared to the head region, the body is a more extensive donor area. Therefore, even in the case of a moderate amount of hair on the body of the patient, the surgeon manages to obtain the necessary amount of grafts suitable for the forthcoming hair transplant procedure.
The operation of hair transplantation from the body is carried out seamlessly and leaves no visible traces in the areas from which the grafts are taken-beard, groin, chest, legs and hands. To date, they can easily take from these donor zones at least 2,000 grafts, and under favorable conditions and 2 times more.
To obtain the maximum number of grafts, doctors can take hair from the body and from the occipital donor zone.
Donor hair from the body (with the exception of hair from the beard) does not reach a great length, however, they can be perfectly used to create a front line of hair growth, in which case there is no rough transition, a soft, smooth, natural line is created. In addition, these donor’s hair is usually used to fill the crown, on which the length is not as important as the number of grafts to create a fullness effect. Thus, donor grafts taken from the body are used to obtain the completeness effect of other hair existing or transplanted during hair transplantation.
It remains to add that although objectively in quality, hair from the body is not the best donor material and gives a weaker visual effect compared to the same number of occipital grafts, nevertheless, for many patients with high degrees of alopecia this is the only way to obtain a really acceptable density transplanted hair.
After transplanting the hair from the body at the site of the graft collection, there are no visible traces.
